I'd like to try a project, as a challenge for my writing abilities. I've been wanting to pick up writing regularly for some time, but haven't ever been able to figure out what to write about on a regular basis.
This is where you come in.
You name a subject, and a position on that subject. Any subject, any position (within reason; let's keep this more or less SFW). I will write 500 words on that subject and that position within a week.

Write about how bN is a nomic and how game theory develops in its population as a natural evolution of an experiment like this.
Why George W. Bush is history's greatest President.
And whatever gets the highest number of 'cool' votes gets written.
fuckyou: Write about how bN is a nomic and how game theory develops in its population as a natural evolution of an experiment like this.
Your Mom is a nomic.

feepness: Why George W. Bush is history's greatest President.
I was hoping for more of a challenge than that...

Write about why the bN justice system should be replicated in America's courts.

'I saw the stealth bomber fire the missile into the Pentagon'
This may be an oxymoron (and I'm just pulling this out of my ass):
Taking the position of devil's advocate is not an effective way of debating or examining a position. We are fairly liberal here and many take on the unfavorable side just to make a discussion. If you are not truly for a viewpoint, how can you make a supporting argument without setting up a strawman or feeding words into another side who aren't here to speak for themselves.

Write a story about a Scino going undercover and attending one of the Anonymous protests on Scientology in 1st person from the Scino's POV. The Scino wore a mask, took pictures, mingled, even chanted and handed out flyers to give the impression that she/he was part of the group.
One rule, though. At the end of the story, the Scino must NOT convert away from Scientology, regardless of all else.

Can we downvote ideas we think are dumb, to a score of 0?

Since when has anyone cared about rules here?

Are you doing an Earl Schieb?
"I'll write 500 words for $19.95."
I remember when he advertised that for a paint job.
WHOA!
I AM old.

Got one for you.
The ambulance company I work for part time gets tax dollars AND bills patients' insurance. We do quite well without the tax money but we take it anyway. I am on the Board and everyone on the Board is a dyed in the wool Republican against socialized medicine and I ask them outright why this is okay to take tax $$ AND bill people and somehow it's just "different." Uh-huh.
ANYWAY. They have asked me to defend in a letter to the editor their stance that they need to still take tax dollars even though they are in the black from billing people's insurance. (One town insider already said that the plan is to TRY to divert funding; in other words, get us to stop taking tax money but taxes will not go down, they just want to use the money for something else.)
Right now I'm doing this sort of "you can't treat us like a black and white expenditure when there is a human element to what we do" yackety smackety.

I'd suggest you write about the cult I keep talking about starting, but I don't think it could be sfw! :-)
write anything? Write me a check, thank you.
Trolls are a necessary and desirable trait of a successful message board.
subby - I think that's a great idea for honing your writing skills. Here's a topic:
Every social system eventually becomes an oligarchy as clever people discover flaws in the system and exploit them. Like software, no civilization can be unhackable.
