Religion should be no more important than the natural food stores, yoga parlors or mythical studies. Period.

Go ahead and believe in religion, folks. But forgive me if I disregard your bullshit the same as someone who thinks the crystal they wear around their neck is healing them.

Aside from the natural food thing, I agree. I do think health food is, well healthy.

Better than mad cow meat anyway. :-)

I know a lot of people who believe in crystals, magic, god and all kinds of other silly things. As long as it makes you happy fine, but let's not run the country based on any of that!

Natural food is something you get from your garden. Or from a farmer's market. You get it when you kill big game and have it butchered, or work with a local rancher to harvest some meat. But weirdos who swear that meat is evil or that cloning is crazy need to get bent.

Most of my food comes from the farmers market or my co op, I grow some of it too. I will eat wild game, but nothing factory farmed.

Meat isn't evil, but factory farming is. Meat that is full of drugs, hormones and antibiotics isn't good for you. Eating sick animals isn't good for you.

But that's just what I think. It works for me. But I would be agaist passing laws to force it on anyone. What next? Laws forcing everyone in to the gym? Banning coffee?

Most people are too stupid to do what's best for themselves, but it's not the govenments place to make them do it.

The point was to illustrate when the Democratic party itself changed its tune. Strom Thurmond's changing political affiliation was a big milestone.

It'd be more of a milestone if there were wider participation. I mean, do you consider Jeffords' switch to be a major milestone? How about Lieberman's?

Not particularly, they're more defections. Lieberman would never have changed political parties if he'd won the CT Democratic primary.

*shrug* I'd say that Jeffords switch had far more influence than Thurmond's, and that Lieberman's switch was far more indicative of a party moving out from under a politician. I mean, Lieberman really didn't change his stances much in the few years separating his vice presidential nomination and his having the Party ostracize him.
