Obama - not that I agree with every policy, but I do believe he's the one who will generate CHANGE.

The conviction of his campaign is much more Presidential and I think that conviction will win a lot of people over in the future. I think he'll get the USA back in to International favor and call me stupid, but that is hoooge.

I'll be voting for a friend of mine who's running in a local election.

I'm probably not going to bother casting a vote for president. I dislike both of the candidates, and my vote doesn't matter anyway as I'm in Illinois. I may vote for McCain, but it's unlikely.

All of the Obama love makes me want to vomit. Yes, I know he makes everyone feel good and we all want change. Nobody's not sick of what we've got now, but I've seen what he's done in my state, and I'm not impressed. People have gotten themselves way too hyped up about him. He's just another Chicago sleazebag.

Here's my rant from [insert gay social networking site]...

So, today I get to vote. I am voting for the terrorist fist-bumping Muslim atheist chainsmoking cokehead socialist African-American Arab, and here's why, in one sentence, with elaboration to follow.

He's a Constitutional scholar and seasoned, successful politician who possesses intelligence and knowledge that I feel would be better applied to managing the current state of our nation than some bitter old man knocking at death's door and his insane, creationist, trophy running mate who'd fit in better at any rotary club rather than in government office.

And really, in one word, all I want is this: Change. Not the often-mocked 'change' that seems abstract and magical. I don't expect a President Obama to shit rainbows that cure cancer and taste like ice cream. By change, I mean getting the totally incompetent Republican Party out of the executive branch of our federal government, at least for a while, because they have fucked things up so bad that I feel like if we don't do something right, and soon, we are going to be in more dire straights than we already are.

And in the last few weeks, McCain has been pretty frightening. Putting abortion, stem cells, the death penalty, and all those other stupid hot-button wedge issues that don't affect me aside, there are two 'McCain Plans' that really scare the shit out of me personally. First of all, his $5000 'tax credit' plan for private insurance. The plan, as it is sold, is great. Here is, paraphrased, how it is sold: "You get a $5000 tax credit to pay for a personal health insurance plan.
"
Sounds pretty fucking awesome, huh? However, when you examine this plan, it turns out to be more of the same Republican bullshit concepts that are named one thing and do the exact opposite. Because guess what pays for this 'tax cut'? Taxing employee benefits! How any thinking person can not see this as an obvious bait-and-switch that will fuck over any working-class individual is beyond me. Have any of you ever been unemployed or self-employed, and had to foot your own bill %100 to get coverage? Or even read of the experiences of people in this boat? Even if this plan is designed to help the uninsured, it won't. Paying for your own insurance is even more expensive than the combined cost of what you and your employer pay when you are on a benefit plan, because at least your employee plan is calculated under a group discount the insurance company used to win over your company. I calculated what would happen in the event the McCain 'health insurance tax credit' became a reality, and if my employer were to decide to drop its benefit program because they didn't feel like paying taxes and all the employees now had a tax credit, my $5000 credit would cover me for EIGHT MONTHS. That means an additional $2500 dollars of my currently disposable income for the year would have to be reallocated to cover my personal insurance plan. This isn't only a shitty idea because of the increase in taxes, potential loss of coverage, etc..., but this would also have horrible consequences on the economy, because that's $2500 less dollars I have to spend on goods and services that help workers not currently in the booming, overpriced insurance industry.

His other awesome plan, though not as detailed, is his recent promise to... buy all the bad mortgages in America so people 'don't lose their homes and can live the American dream'? I mean, that's a nice sentiment and all, but those people need to go back to renting if they can't afford their house, and more importantly, THE MORTGAGE COMPANIES WHO GAVE LOANS TO PEOPLE WHO COULDN'T AFFORD THEM SHOULD BE PENALIZED, NOT REWARDED. I mean Jesus Christ, are these people fucking retarded? I don't think I'd be entirely against some form of help for the homeowners, but the solution is most definitely NOT giving a handout to the lenders who got greedy and fucked up.

I must admit, I think the Republican Party has fucked up so bad, I just want them out. But ultimately, I am voting for Obama for positive reasons. I like that he comes off as elite. I don't want a President who spends his free time clearing brush or referring to everyone he meets with a phony, disingenuous "My Friends". I want a President who is going to lead, him or her self, based on his or her own ideals and principals, not be 'managed', as Bush has clearly been by his circling band of advisors with motives and agendas that hurt the country for their own personal gain. McCain has come off the same way during his campaign, from his VP pick down to his most recent 'Obama is/isn't a socialist'. I want a President who picks smart people for cabinet positions, not party loyalist horse cock judges who are owed a favor whose incompetence will lead to people dying unnecessarily in the next natural disaster. I want an educated thinker, not my friend from Friday happy hour.

And just to clarify, I don't hate 'Republicans'. Obviously, many people have many friends who don't hold the same political opinions, and it's great that we live in a country where we are free to be of whatever opinion we are inclined, without having to worry about serious repercussions for those opinions. However, I do hate the Republican Party, because they have become, and continue to be, the exact opposite of everything they stand for. They claim to be fiscally responsible, but our national deficit has more than doubled, DOUBLED, over the past 8 years. Yes, the Bush Administration has managed to spend as much money in 8 years as America did, cumulatively, in it's previous 200+ years. Republicans claim to be for small government, yet they throw this philosophy right out the window when they want to pry into a woman's doctor appointment where she's told that carrying her fetus to term is likely to be fatal, or when the government wants to pry into your telephone calls without a warrant, or when the government wants to detain you without charges or legal representation, indefinitely, without telling anyone, or even telling you why. The thing that makes me mad really is that this is the party that claims to be for freedom and the working class, and all they do is eviscerate freedom at every opportunity, and put a boot on the neck of the working class for the benefit of big corporations in the name of 'capitalism'. And it pisses me off that people who I love or consider friends fall for this. And I'm by no means a Democrat, I have plenty of problems with their party too, however with the Republican Party, I feel like this is the part of the story where the kid yells out "But he's naked!", because for the last 8 years, all they've been selling is shit that isn't real.

So, yeah, I'm ready for the dreaded "Change" in the form of the terrorist Muslim black Anti-Christ guy, who actually seems to give a shit about helping normal American families. If he wins and turns out to suck, I'll be happy to admit it, but it's time to give someone else a chance, and Obama's platform actually serves the interest of a middle class American like me far better than the ideas of the crazy old guy and the prom queen who take advice from fake plumbers. Fake plumbers who lie about wanting to buy their business, that doesn't even earn enough money to make the point that they're lying to argue about valid.

Oh well. At least today, it will finally be settled, and the two-year election cycle will be over. I know I'm not changing anyone's mind, I just had to vent.

...and then, they'll slowly fade into oblivion. Like a supernova. Leaving a tiny core of ultra-dense hatred behind.

That all depends on who wins. If the election goes over to the dark side, it'll be 90% of the threads for the next 4 years.

Nah. I think the only one that's going to have any staying power is the captioned debate graphic with Biden and Palin about her daughter.

The rest of bN for the remainder of the week will likely just be "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA" posted in different ways.

mtman900: In reality, I voted for Obama at 7:00am... and the line was longer than I've ever seen it. In NJ, where no one's votes mattered. Almost out the door.

That's what I'll be doing in about an hour.

(Bergen Country NJ)

So many McCain/Palin lawn signs in my hood.

Looking at his account number, his e-penis is bigger than both of ours combined.
