osirisothedead: That all depends on who wins. If the election goes over to the dark side, it'll be 90% of the threads for the next 4 years.

If this election goes over to the dark side, we won't have to worry about it as every other nuclear power will immediately bomb us out of fear for their own survival.

645-ish, waiting in line:

[Georgia law prohibits the taking of pictures within a polling station.]

730-ish, after voting (fire truck is barely visible on the right).

Bonus: After staying up all night, I totally spooked the morning crowd.

Real Clear Politics (the most right-wingy of poll predictors) is saying:

Obama 278
McCain 132
Toss Up 128

Even if McCain were to win every toss-up vote, Obama still wins.

I voted. My polling place is less than a mile away. I walked in, gave my name, got my ballot, went to one of the empty 10 "tables", and voted for Bob Barr. NC is one of the hardest states for other parties to get on the ballot, so I thought I'd give some support to the man with the mustache. It was either him or Nader, and Nader is a write-in candidate. I also voted for the Libertarian governor, Munger. I voted against Elizabeth Dole and for Larry Kissell(D).

The map provides a state-by-state overview of the current polling. States for which we are currently at least 95% confident in the outcome are considered ??safe states? and are colored in the darkest color. States for which we are less confident in the outcome are more lightly colored (proportionally) based on the direction in which they are currently leaning (either towards Obama, or towards McCain). States which we currently view as tied are colored in white.

I know polls have been wrong before... but I find it hard to believe that ALL the polls, pundits, etc are going to be so wrong that Obama won't win... not to say it can't happen, but it would probably be very shocking.

The lady behind me in line today said, "I heard the Police are on call in case there are any riots." I wonder who she's voting for.

Obama. I don't agree with the policies and ideas of the McCain/Palin ticket. I like a lot of what Obama/Biden have had to say and I think they will be good for our country. They aren't perfect, but they are the best of my choices.

The rest of the ticket I voted against Saxby Chambliss and Paul Braun (GA representatives and their policies fucking suck), and most of the other incumbents. There were a couple I still voted for because they've been doing okay stuff. There were a lot of judges running unopposed.
