Trading rape offset credits is a hot thing right now.
I use btjunkie now that mininova is gone. What does bN suggest?

Rape offset credits are controversial, but in my opinion anything that might result in less rape released into the atmosphere is a good thing.

Btjunkie is good, other than proving that it's a sick fuck with its "suggestions" which are about as welcome as your uncle "suggesting" you take a bath with him.
Also, demonoid. And if you like educational stuff, elbitz.
Supposedly there are also uber-awesome ultra-private elite trackers out there, but they want you to fill out applications and describe yourself and other stuff I'm not entirely comfortable doing for total strangers on the internet.

I have some friends that are way more into this than I am. They pay a certain fee and have to maintain an upload ratio to keep membership. Way too hardcore for me. I miss mininova just for the site interface. btjunkies good so far but it's harder to keep up with certain torrents without searching for them.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, I'm used to searching for torrents. I guess you mean the way the pirate bay categorizes TV shows? For me, that's not all that much preferable--you still have to go through several clicks and slowish page loads, and the results are sometimes unreliable; it isn't human-level smart about the way it autocategorizes stuff. Searching requires a few keystrokes but I never thought of that as an obstacle, and it can give better results.
Also, scrapetorrent.com can be useful for more extensive searches, but seems less reliable than it once was. For one thing they've served some ads which will install malware if you don't have adblock etc. running. I doubt it's intentional, they just aren't careful about who they let advertise there. Also, it isn't showing some results (like it will sometimes return zero entries on the piratebay, when there are quite a few there--not that I recommend the pirate bay except as a last resort, but it shakes my faith in scrapetorrent).
But when I'm looking for something slightly hard to find, the first thing I go to is scrapetorrent and demonoid (since scrapetorrent doesn't show demonoid results).

I just got accustomed to mininovas sorting of daily categories. But btjunkie isn't bad. Just got used to mini and the search funtion seemed smoother. But whatever. I just regret mininova getting screwed over. =)
