1. Desire power
2. Are elected by people that, by and large, are completely unqualified to assess the fitness of a person to lead.
As a result of this equation we find ourselves living in a country run by this titanic douchenozzle.
The obvious question is "well, what's the solution then?", to which I would answer "drink more".
