It's all still toys to me. I grew up in a generation without it, so while it's all fun and games, I can still spend time with a good book with my phone shut off. It works for me, I don't work for it.
Yes. I'm old enough to remember pre-internet times and it sucked ass. I'm more disturbed by people who aren't addicted. Typical internet use for me:
Look at wunderground on the net. Check out the BBC. Check email. Look for work on various job sites. Play games. Look up words on dictionary.com. Check out wiki for things that I want a quick look at, but don't need scholarly research for. Look at websites for information about products I might buy and then hit other websites to buy them and have them shipped to me. Communicate on various web forums with people hundreds or thousands of miles away. Find out about local events. Read gossip. Listen to music. Watch television episodes of shows. Look for government programs that may assist me or other people I know. Look for fapping material.
Almost all of those things could be replaced with non-internet equivalents but all of them would be a massive pain in the ass to do with much lower efficiency.
