We knocked the TV down one time, once, my brother was hooking up the nintendo or something and he pushed it too far over. It was fine and no one got hurt(also he was 12 at the time and weight 5 X as much as the TV but still).
"You win again, gravity!"
I'd think on the whole LCDs are more dangerous as they're easier to knock over and have all those corners and shit. Plus very large CRTs are hard to come by anyway, and take a shitload of effort to stick up on something it would fall off of.
Also, 'safety nazis' would imply jack booted thugs barging into homes to make sure your TV was properly anchored.
All I saw was a guy telling you how to do it. Not even talking about some nut legislator trying to make it law, so...
trollific headline or someone trying to call people LIBBBBBBBS?

Also, who has a CRT anymore?

Me. I have one in the bedroom simply for those occasions when someone is ill and bedridden for a day or two. and then the monster in the office. (Thing weighs like 300lbs.)

Strap the kid to the wall. That's easier.

I have one in my dining room because it's just way to goddamn heavy to get rid of. I've been considering putting it on craigslist but people get all questiony and want to play 20 questions for this crap.
Its a tv, come get it, if it doesn't work throw it away.

That's what the curb and a "free" sign are for.

Yeah, but that's specifically for my PS2 and 4 games that I never play. If I get rid of it, what would I not play games on then?

We have Mexicans who'll take whatever you put to the curb no questions asked. Wish I could have gotten them to haul my CRT out of my house last night.

One of ours is. It's a ~25 year old RCA, and it's fine for just watching while exercising.

I don't see how you can tip over a heavy CRT unless you've balanced the thing on something unstable or smaller than the TV's base.

I have 3. a 19inch, 21inch and a massive 30 inch HD monster that weighs 100+ pounds.

Why wouldn't you wall mount it? Those stands are stupid and takes up too much space.
TV stands are ghetto, wall mount that bitch, it's not expensive.
And spackle is also cheap for when you take it down.
