Yeah, introducing quality incremental upgrades that make the dominant platform in the industry even better is just KILLING Apple. I'm sure Android pads and Windows 8 will overtake them any minute now....

The new iPad still does less than my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I've had this thing for like 6 months now. Apple is overpriced shit.

LOL, troll troll troll your boat.
The Android market surpassed 400k in January after passing 200k and 300k in 2011. On pace to catch and surpass Apple's 540k this year. Personally I don't think the quantity of apps matters, but you brought it up. I've yet to be unable to find an app on our iPad that I can't find either the same app or a comparable alternative to on the Android market.
Also making you a Trolliolio is that you lumped in Windows phone with Android. The windows mobile platform is dead on arrival.

Well, there's a virus or malware tidbit for every Android app, so that should be fun for you...
Android phones will keep getting exploited
Android's permission problems
Android antivirus apps improve, just not very much

Companies shouldn't launch new products or advertise their products. It fucks up the economy and increases the unemployment rate.

Yeah, my virus and malware policy on all digital platforms is to not be a fucking dumbass. So far it's working out pretty well.

They make pathetic, incremental upgrades because they have a market for it and that market rewards their shareholders.
It's not for *you* as a consumer. You're either "in" or you're "out"

I have an android phone. All I have to say is the available apps on google market, or play, whatever the fuck it's called now, are mostly garbage. I feel like there's no quality control. Like bN, where good comments get lost in the noise, I've just given up looking for good apps on Android because they're are soooo many shit ones.

That's odd. The only time I've had issues with android apps is widgets, and that's because I'm super picky. If you go with the highly-reviewed apps, you'll be fine. Read an article with recommendations and go from there.
When the number of apps in the store reaches above 100k, you generally don't have to worry about finding what you want. Something will be there to satisfy your need.

Trust me, the same is true in the Apple app store, or iTunes, or whatever the fuck they call it now.

The point still remains...how dare the industry leader make their winning product better--faster, higher-resolution display, improved OS? What are they thinking?

You're not wrong. They've proven that their business model *more* than works.
Thing is, many folks outside of the Apple community have access to features and functions that, three generation into the platform's development, still don't exist.
Closed platforms exist outside of the normal evolutionary curve. If your marketing is good, you can say fuck-all to consumer expectations.
Apple's marketing is top-notch.

You're right, it makes no sense! Why would any consumer want to purchase a product that is superior in every single way, from the hardware to the support, when they can buy a tablet they still have to jailbreak to put linux on, which they won't do anyway?

Indeed...the three people who want Linux on a tablet with an already-stellar OS pre-installed are really left in the lurch.

The best thing about Apple and Kony 2012 haters is that their hatred is based on what they believe to be undeserved popularity, a mental malfunction that stems from their being unpopular or disliked during their school age years.

The one that I actually recall the name of is SleepStream. There was another for running, Sparkpeople, several that I've seen advertised, but are only for iPhone.

I don't know what 'sleepstream' is since you didn't provide a description, but SparkPeople is unique enough that it took me about ten seconds to find this.

It has limited functionality compared with the iPhone app. You can't do the same things. Sleepstream is a sound therapy app that I used to help me sleep. I've downloaded 3-4 apps that are supposed to be the same, but they don't work as well, if at all.

I just want to point out that arguing over this shit is dumb. Everybody has their own preference. What's useful and intuitive to me might be like brain rape to you. Live and let live already.

LOLWAT? What's different?
Have you used the app before? The Android version tracks food and calories. The iPhone app was more like the web interface. I could sync with my online account.

Also, I worked at the Ref Desk at an academic library for nine years. Do you really think the search function of an app store is beyond me?

Whatever, I don't want to fight about it either, but for the record I only asked because you initially only gave details that amounted to 'blah it don't work hurr'. I was only asking in an effort to help.
I don't pay for any of these things and I am forced to use them all with ignorant people who don't understand technology, so I'll just go back to happily watching everyone bask in the justification of whatever they spent money on.
Sorry for caring.

The best thing about Apple haters is that they refuse to acknowledge that the iPad has far and away the best specs, functionality, and support of any tablet on the market, and call everyone ignorant for spending money on a superior product even though Apple users are generally, according to multiple studies, more successful in their careers, love lives, and are more handsome than their Android-buying counterparts (look it up, it's true).

Damn, Apple vs Android discussions have a Israel vs Palestinian feel to it with a twist of a good soccer riot. I think it would be a better use of everyone's time if we all join together and beat on the dozen or so Blackberry Playbook users.
