Last Dance.... RIP
Sad. Her and Gorgio Moroder made some classic hits.
Now is the summer of our donnacontent.
If it wasn't for Donna Summer, roller rinks wouldn't have anything to play to get people to leave. RIP.
Loved to love you, Donna.
She wont be workin hard for the money no more.
Now is the winter of our Donna Summer.
Best version of I Feel Love, evar! The "Messiah, Messiah..." chants always made people go batshit crazy on the dance floor when I started mixing it in.
This is very sad. She was the beginning of a musical form I love.
Unfortunately, she had one of the worst lyric lines of all time:
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe againnnn
Oh, nooo!
- MacArthur Park

This news turns me... Inside Out.
hedon: This news turns me... Inside Out.
That got played during poker last week. My friend turned to me and siad "how come everyone over 35 knows all the words to this song I've never heard"?
I responded, "Noob".

Too young. RIP
I found it odd that they said she died from lung cancer but she's still trying to finish an album. My mom's final year with lung cancer was spent on oxygen, and there was no way she could have sung, let alone recorded an album. I know everyone is different but, seems like there's more here.

Aren't there different types of lung cancer? Some spread faster than others, right? Also, when it's detected, while it may not make much difference in terms of ultimate survivability, can make a great deal of difference in regard to progression of the disease. And if she got a metastases in say, the brain, she might have retained some lung function long after the brain would've been eaten up, sadly -- and that goes for your mom, too.
