The average person doesn't give two shits about that. They want to feel safe from terrorists and they believe that "If I'm not doing anything wrong, I have nothing to fear!". All politicians must understand this is they ever want to get elected. We can argue about politicians who put getting elected above their responsibility to obey the law but...well...
