gahbrone: I do not have any confidence that will happen. SJC and ESPECIALLY the POTUS
I have every confidence that the law will be struck down and Obama will lose. The trend is clear and obvious.

Yeah, not agreed.
This is comical though:
David Axelrod says this a problem for Romney.

phil_herup: Why is the Right to Work bad?
Why should you be forced to join a union?
Because if everyone else you work with want a union, you join the fucking union. If everyone decides to dissolve the union, you ca do that too..

paranoyd: If you want to debate whether he gave ENOUGH support, I can see your point and possibly agree. But I disagree that this will effect Obama's election. People's minds are made up. This won't change anything.
I'll tell you, I was already not in his corner but any sympathy I had toward his reelection is completely gone now.

I think people's expectations are unrealistic of the President. If Bush can't singlehandedly ruin everything, Obama can't singlehandedly fix it.

Woot, Republicans win!!
Maddow is looking mighty sexafied tonight.
I think everybody attempting to extrapolate this onto the Presidential election is out of their gourds.
jimmythehutt: I have every confidence that the law will be struck down and Obama will lose. The trend is clear and obvious.
Yep, I'm pretty much with you...
All that 'Hope' I had during the 07-08 campaigning is completely gone, silly me for thinking we would actually have a real populist president...

Almost NO coverage that we won all 4 senate recall elections too.
including one where the GOP up for recall retired... so there was no incumbent

He can and could have done A LOT more than he actually did. I mean he didn't even give good lip service to this or any other project that he backed in 08.

Why? It seems a pretty clear indication.of the impact of spending in a campaign, and the lengths the GOP financial backers will go to to win. Do you think they won't do something similar in November?

Well, he became the President in '09, so I'm not sure how that equates.

Because nobody outside Wisconsin will remember this three months from now, and Wisconsin is irrelevant. Ohio, Florida, and maybe North Carolina and Virginia are pretty much all that matters.

paranoyd: Why?
Because it is apparent that anything he said he believed in was only to get elected. He said he wanted a single payer healthcare system, he did nothing to try and achieve that. He said that hew would stand up with the people trying to keep their unions safe, he gave a few throw away lines in a speech or two. Then there's GUantanamo and Drones and domestic spying. This administration is constantly taking sides with Wall Street and whomever else will make large campaign donations.
It sucks, it's sad and it might well be the end of his career. Cause I guarantee you he will not have the youth support that he did 4 years ago.

I completely disagree. He's been very good for LGBT groups, and he's slowed the downturn and it's turning around. He's been better for our public image than Bush, although the drone strikes are problematic, and he's ended the war in Iraq. Essentially you're saying he didn't do the things you wanted so he's bad, but every President can be looked at that way by everyone. He's not autonomous. There are systems in place so that he CAN'T do whatever he wants. I think he's done a pretty decent job.

The financial backers of Walker certainly will. They will play the exact same game with the same results.

Every election cycle there's some overhyped state issue somewhere that happens in the primary: referenda on gay marriage, kicking the children of illegal immigrants out of schools, term limits, medical marijuana, what have you. Everybody overreacts and says it'll have massive impacts on turnout in the general election, and it never does.

They did not want to shoot themselves in the foot before this election, I'm sure they were biding their time, hoping for some last minute help from this administration, to no avail.
But believe me, they will be screaming tomorrow...
LOL
Left is clearly backward on the economic front.

The progressive mentality does not work, and people are waking up to it.

OH.............. that is some serious rationalization there. I remember the the fury behind the left when all this started.
Who remembers the left moving behind the recall? Only the third recall of a duly elected governor in the history of the USA.
The stakes were huge in this election.
I remember seeing so many posts from bN libs stating Walker was gone when the recall was confirmed. I wish I could see who posted what in those threads.
People are beginning to understand how labor unions really operate, and they have decided that they don't like them.
This was a big deal. It was so foolish of big labor to come to Wisconsin and start this recall. They acted out of emotion rather than political pragmatism. If they won... great, but the loss is epic.
Fools they were.

Your rationalization is surprising.
This was not a silly state issue.
This was only the third attempt to recall a governor in the entire history of the USA, and the reason behind it was extremely significant.
For once a politician stood up to the thugs and survived their childish behavior. This was essentially a microcosm of where the country is going to go in regards to public labor.
