This is what happens when sodomy is legalized.
1. Drill it into kids' heads that they shouldn't have sex until marriage
2. Kids get married at 18.
3. They realize within a few years that maybe their first-lay home-school-sweetheart wasn't the best choice of lifetime partner, move to "correct" their "youthful indiscretion".
Voila, they can in their minds justify vilification of gay marriage since it is an inherently immoral proposal, while apologizing for their own actions because it was just an honest mistake.
Just saying that's how I've seen it play out quite a bit.
